Overall Ratting: ***
This unit is great for slow roasting. It is one of the first home air roasters designed and sold in 1984. It is a step up from the hot air pop corn maker (has chaff collector). A thermometer is a definite upgrade that makes this unit a precise roaster.
The biggest benefit of this roaster is the slow roasting process (13-17 minutes) which makes a great cup of coffee. Secondly, you are in control of temerature and roast time, not the roaster.
The drawback is that the Melita needs a thermometer to regulate proper roasting temperature. The temerature is controlled manually. It also does not have an automatic shut off and requires an external timer.
